Creating an Inexpensive and Easily Stored Gym for Toddlers and Preschoolers

The winter months often require kids to limit outdoor play.  In order to help my little monkeys to burn off their always abundant energy and to continue developing their gross motor skills, I put together some inexpensive items to create our own indoor gym.  These toys can be used outside as well and are easily stored when not in use.

These are just some items that I had on hand from different activities that we have done in the past. You could also include items like scarfs, soft balls, balance boards, etc.  Our "gym" includes a fold up slide, kid safe cones, a set of flat agility rings, small tossing rings, bean bags, a balance ball, and a sit and spin. Most items I purchased on Amazon.

We have created a lot of games and activities with these items.  The kids were even using them in pretend play as well.  The ideas are endless.

We also use these toys outside when the weather is good.
